Story in Innovation: A Webinar with Po Chi Wu & Tom Schlesinger
Storytelling in Innovation: Learn how the art of Storytelling can turn you into a Disruptive Innovator on Wednesday May 10th, 2017 at 11am (EDT).
FutureLab is now developing an intensive program for helping senior executives to understand the power of storytelling, and to learn how to find the “spine of your innovation story”. The story spine is a technique used by Pixar and screenwriters all over the world to deliver truly compelling storytelling. The “spine” serves as an invisible conceptual thread that binds a story together and can be used in innovation to understand how the core feature set for a “minimal viable product” and your branding fits into the overall vision that connects with the user at an emotional level.
This knowledge will help innovators understand not only what their invention does at a functional level, but more importantly… why it matters. It is how we connect with emotion and transformation. This new approach also involves the improvement of the business model sketchpad, to help the entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs better structure their investor and stakeholder presentations.
FutureLab has teamed up with Tom Schlesinger, who was the story consultant on "Nowhere in Africa," which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film. He has over 10,000 students internationally, and has trained industry professionals at Pixar Animation Studios, Lucasfilm Ltd., the American Film Institute, the Writers Guild of America, the Directors Guild of America and numerous international film schools. You can find out more about Tom's work at: http://tomschlesinger.com/
Join Tom and Dr. Po Chi Wu, FutureLab partner and co-author of Agile Innovation, at FutureLab’s webinar “The Spine of your Innovation Story”, which will help you understand the core principles of professional storytelling, and how they can be applied to the innovation practices, methodology, attitudes, and culture at your organization.
